L I G H T and the In between
In everything I do I look for the light.
To shine on the pain, the grief, the shadow.
Or to illuminate the joy, the good, the gift.
I stoke the small flame to make it brighter, growing it when I can.
I use photography, clay, paint and other materials deeply engaged with my own lived experience. In the moment or in the reflective process, other modalities bring light, healing darkness and the in between. I build space for myself and support others to create, share and commune. As a trained doula and yoga teacher I assist women to trust themselves and their bodies in an empowered way. I use breathwork and multiple physical asana modalities to help myself and others move energy through their bodies and space.
I create space for tears of exuberance, and heavy emotions for grief. I recognize that all pain is relative and we can help each other with more love, honesty and space. Grief is as deep as love, vast and existing hand in hand. Through it all, I want to uplift my own spirit and help others to do the same. I believe that we can create space, community and artwork that heals us and changes the world.
I am the founder of Maggie Knox, a non-profit organization supporting living artists, women and children.
